About YMCA Masters Nationals
What we refer to as “Y Nationals” is the YMCA Masters National Championship meet, held once a year, usually in Florida. It brings together swim teams from all over the country for four days of competition. It is large (500+ participants ages 18-90+), but not overwhelming. There are no qualifying times so there is a wide range of swimmers – from former Olympians to first-time competitors. We train hard and swim our best, but our main goal is having fun.
Please confirm with Coach David (marylandmastersspcc@gmail.com) if you are planning to attend and let him know your flight information so he can coordinate rides to and from the airport.
Hotel Reservations – We have secured a block for rooms at the Courtyard Fort Lauderdale Beach, 440 Seabreeze Boulevard. The group rate is $229 - $249 per night for either a single King size bed or two queen beds. The link to reserve a room is here. The last day to book a room under the group rate is Monday April 8th.
Other local hotels are offering courtesy rates for hotels further away from the pool. A link to the hotel info is found here.
YMCA Membership – This year we will represent The Greater Annapolis Y in Arnold. If you are not already a member, you will have to join this Y by April 9th to swim with our team. The meet requires swimmers to be a member at least 30 days before the meet.
You will be billed a prorated amount for the month of April and the full amount month for May. Membership fees range from $56 to $25 a month plus a $25 joining fee. If you don’t want your membership to continue after the meet you will need to give 30 days’ notice to cancel. Click HERE for document with details on registering for YMCA membership.
Register for the Meet – Once you are a member of the Greater Annapolis Y, you will be able to register for the meet. The deadline to register is April 24th. The link to register for the meet is here. Relays will be decided by the coaches each day based on the number of swimmers available and competitions.

Relay entries:
We ask each participant to send $37.50 ($7.5 for each relay) to the team to cover their participation fees in all five relays. Refunds are provided for those that don’t participate in all 5 relays. T-shirts and caps:
Team T-Shirt Order – We will be using the same “year-less” t-shirt as last year. We plan to continue to use this shirt for the next few National Meets. The t-shirts will be $20 per shirt and available in sizes small through extra-large. There is a also a team national cap available for order in either latex ($5) or silicone ($10).

YMCA Masters Nationals 2023 (Ft. Lauderdale, FL)
We had a very successful and fun YMCA Master Nationals. Our team did an amazing job taking 5th overall with 1,613.50 points. The fourth place team (Rite-Hite Family YMCA) only scored 74 more points than us even though they had 20 more swimmers! Everyone swam very well at the meet and it shows in the results. The women’s team got 3rd overall with 1,066.50 points, only 53.5 points away from the second place team. Congratulations to the women’s team.
We had a ton of new team records set and the mixed 75+ relay also set a YMCA National record in the 200 Medley. The record was last set in 2004. Please join me in congratulating the record breakers on some very fast swimming.

YMCA Masters Nationals 2022 (Sarasota, FL)
The 2022 Y Nationals team had a very fun and successful meet. Our team placed 4th overall in the combined team score, 2nd for the Women’s team and 4th for the Men’s team. Pretty good for only having 21 swimmers. There were almost 500 potential 1st place awards in the swim meet. Our team captured 51 first places. That is 10% and we had about 7 % of the total number of swimmers at the meet. Congratulations to everyone.
