Please take a few minutes and watch this Youtube on freestyle. And then watch it over again, and again. There are a lot of good pointers on "simple" technical adjustments you can make--- mind you, it takes a great deal of effort to make a little change but it is worth trying. Wouldn't it be great to go faster with less effort and more efficiency?
About 35 people from Maryland Masters and satellite swimmers will be competing together at Y Nationals in Orlando in a couple of weeks. While we are gone (April 10-14) all practices will be run and coached as scheduled.
Please plan to attend the social at Alli's house on April 6 starting at 4:00. (Lots of emails have been sent about this..... please respond to this one if you have any questions.
John Collings, who is now in assisted living in Pennsylvania, has always been a tried and true competitor at the Y Nationals. He will be missing it this year. He would like to wish everyone lots of luck and he sends his love. If you would like to call him, I know he would appreciate it. His number is: 570-225-8594
Those of you heading to Florida..... you can rest now... Smooth swimming is important. Keep thinking about technique, good turns, strong kicking. We'll be doing more sprints and starts off the blocks. Then get some more rest....
Congratulations to US! At the last meet, earlier this month, we received an award for the Mini-Series Meets. WE placed 2nd in the Quality Club Scoring and 1st in the Total Club Scoring. Thanks to all those swimmers who participated in the series. Many swam in all 5 meets (they received a gift card from the LMSC) and many also swam in at least 12 different events (they, also received a gift card from the LMSC). Also, thanks to all participants of relays. Those points really helped improve our scores!
We always had a great representation from our team, at all the mini-series meets. The swimmers below, from our team, went above and beyond!
