Hi Swim Team! (Try to read this to the end.....)
We had 15 swimmers in the mini-series meet yesterday. It was a beautiful day for a drive to the Eastern Shore. Washington College has a very nice pool and we had many good swims. From preliminary results, we won the combined team, this time, with 479 points(second place was 314). Our women were first with 243 pts and our men were second with 128 pts (AAA had 129 pts). Bravo! I'm laughing as I look at the numbers... righto: 128 + 243 = 479... Well, I suppose the relays were added into the team score. Anyhow, it was an enjoyable meet and please look at participating in the next one.
Dec 1: Mini-Series #3 at Talbot County Y in Easton. Warm up at 8 a.m. meet starts at 9:00 a.m. Here's the link to register: https://www.clubassistant.com/club/meet_information.cfm?c=1029&smid=10855
We usually meet at the McDonald's on Whitehall Rd just this side of the Bay Bridge and car pool over. At this meet, the host team is providing lunch afterwards at a nice venue/restaurant. More details to follow.
As long as you are USMS registered, there is no cost to enter mini-series meets. Which reminds me... USMS registration for next year is now open. From now through the end of the year the cost is $66 to renew your USMS registration with us: MARY (Maryland Masters) at workout group SPCC. Since we are a sanctioned USMS team, all members are required to be USMS registered. Once renewed, you're good through Dec 31, 2019. Here's the link: https://www.usms.org/join-usms/join-or-renew
Dec. 2: Plan to come to the Team Holiday Party at Stan and Margie's home! This wonderful couple has been hosting the holiday party for many, many years! It's a great time to catch up with other team members and families.
Also, just a note-- we had a great turn out at the mid morning practice today! I know it's a day off for most but it was a wonderful sense of team-- cooperation and circle swimming together! Well done!
Nov 14: Wednesday-- Lunch after mid morning practice at Cafe Mezzonette in Severna Park!
